Reduction of nitrogen emissions at the CHP

Client:
TEDOM a.s.

Thanks to the use of the SCR (selective catalytic reduction) denitrification method, the cogeneration unit at the AVIA Praha site, where ORGREZ implemented this measure, releases significantly less nitrogen (NOx) emissions into the air and thus meets the most stringent legislative requirements for the operation of these facilities.

It is a flue gas purification process in which an aqueous urea solution is mixed with flue gas, and this mixture is guided through a reactor with a catalyst.

The flue gases, to which the aqueous ammonia solution is administered in a controlled manner by SCR technology, are fed to the catalyst, where the final chemical reaction takes place. In catalytic reduction, molecular nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O) are formed. These products are harmless and form a natural part of the Earth's atmosphere.
