Proficiency Testing of Testing Laboratories
The most crucial aspect of laboratory analyses is ensuring accurate and reliable results. Since 2015 we have been providing inter-laboratory comparisons for laboratories worldwide to verify their proficiency in performing tests and to confirm the accuracy of their measurement uncertainties.
Once a laboratory signs up for our proficiency testing programme, our Proficiency Testing Group sends them samples to analyse, and the laboratories then return their test results to us. These results are subsequently evaluated statistically to verify the accuracy of the measurements from each laboratory. The final report serves to demonstrate the competence of both accredited and non-accredited laboratories, including the verification of their measurement uncertainties.
We regularly organise proficiency testing programmes for our customers in the following areas:
- Solid fossil fuels – coal – PT/COAL
- Solid biofuels – PT/BIO
- Energy by-products residues – slag, ash – PT/EBP
Outside the scope of accreditation, we also offer proficiency testing in the following areas:
- Solid recovered fuels – PT/SRF
- Mechanical testing of non-metallic materials in electrical and cables – PT/CABLE M
- Electrical and non-electrical testing of metallic and non-metallic materials in electrical cables – PT/CABLE F
- Electrical cables under fire conditions – PT/CABLE P
Our Proficiency Testing Group is accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010. For the proficiency testing of fuels and combustion residues, the Proficiency Testing Group is the only accredited entity in the Czech Republic.
Our reach is global, with laboratories from around the world participating in our proficiency testing programme.
