Ambient Air Quality Monitoring and Assessment
Ambient air quality measurements allow for long-term monitoring and quantification of the actual impact of emission sources (such as energy and industrial facilities, construction facilities, etc.) on ambient air quality. The measured data can help identify potential sources of air pollution (e.g., dust and other emissions) or provide a more accurate assessment of the environmental impact of various facilities during the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
Ambient air quality measurements are conducted at predefined representative locations using ORGREZ monitoring stations. Suitable measurement sites are selected based on an analysis of local meteorological conditions and an assessment of dispersion conditions. This ensures that the measured data is representative and accurately reflects the actual state of air pollution in the respective location.
With several decades of experience in this field, we not only supply and maintain equipment but also operate monitoring stations and analyse air quality data for our customers. We manage our own ambient air quality monitoring network near major combustion sources, primarily conventional power plants. Our monitoring is certified by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic and can be conducted through a laboratory accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute (ČIA). The data collected under our accreditation can be included in the national air quality database, managed by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute in Prague, the designated organisation of the Ministry of the Environment
We also measure dust levels in outdoor work environments (including meteorological parameters), such as ash storage sites, power plants, and industrial facilities. The results of these measurements, along with their evaluation, can help identify potential sources of dust at the facility and assist in designing targeted dust reduction measures for the assessed site. We also have a mobile measurement vehicle at our disposal.
In addition, we provide:
- Ongoing evaluation and presentation of collected air quality data
- Assessment of the emission source's impact on overall air pollution levels in the area
- Preparation of dispersion studies based on the SYMOS'97 model (by an authorised person)
- Determination of the required chimney height for a new emission source in the given location (by an authorised person)
- Evaluation of chemical aggressiveness and dust levels in the environment to assess suitability for sensitive equipment, such as data centres.
