Wastewater, Soil and Energy By-Products Analysis, Reporting, and Certification

Industrial processes inevitably generate waste material. This material can become a valuable commodity if it meets the necessary criteria and passes the certification process to be classified as a product. We assist our customers through all stages, from the initial analysis of waste material to successful product certification, including the issuance of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

We primarily conduct waste material analyses for wastewater, soils, construction waste, and by-products from energy production. We also conduct analyses of structures designated for demolition, assessing environmental and health hazards. If necessary, we quantify the amounts of various materials to support the preparation of the demolition project and its economic evaluation.

Samples of waste materials are collected by an authorised sampler holding a Waste Sampling Manager certificate and sent for analysis to our accredited testing laboratory. The entire process is recorded in an online application, where our customers can track all data, and the related documentation is stored. The results can be evaluated within the application according to various regulations, or the analysis values can be compared with other samples.

Since 1998, we have provided certifications and declarations of conformity for analysed samples for use as construction products, in accordance with Act No. 22/1997 Coll. Additionally, we offer Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), which will become mandatory for construction materials starting 1 January, 2025.

For specific chemical substances, we assist our customers in documenting the processes for pre-registration and registration under Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH). We also ensure that information in the ECHA system remains up to date and represent our customers in individual SIEFs and chemical consortia. Additionally, we prepare Substance Identity Profiles (SIP) for manufacturers, which serve as a reference for ongoing substance monitoring.

To support the successful market launch of products, we secure the necessary Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The purpose of an EPD is to objectively compare products based on their environmental characteristics. By providing this information, EPDs encourage the demand for and supply of more environmentally friendly products and services.

The process of obtaining an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) entails:

  • Data and information collection, processing of LCA and EPD
  • Definition of objectives and study scope, scenario creation for information modules
  • Inventory analysis and indicator calculations
  • LCA report and drafting of the EPD for the given product
  • Critical review of the LCA and EPD
  • Verification, including methodology and data verification, preparation of the verification report
  • Verification certificate and approval by the Czech Environmental Information Agency (CENIA),
  • Final verified EPD
